Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

Apis Rescue ("we," "us," or "our") connects people who need bee and swarm removal with volunteer members who can help. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our member sign-up form, and the text messages and other notifications we send.

1. Information We Collect

Members. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, street address, and your preferred way to be notified (SMS, WhatsApp, or email). We convert your address into approximate map coordinates so we can match you with swarm calls near you. We also record whether you agreed to receive text messages and the date and time you signed up.

People requesting a swarm rescue. When you submit a request or call us, we collect your name, phone number, the address of the swarm, and details about the swarm (such as size and height). For phone requests, we may also receive your caller ID, the time of the call, and a recording of the name and address you provided.

Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our site and forms may collect basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To review and approve member sign-ups and manage membership.
  • To match swarm calls with nearby members and send job alerts.
  • To share a swarm requester's name, phone number, and swarm address with the member who accepts that job, so the swarm can be removed.
  • To send membership updates, such as approval status.
  • To respond to questions and support requests.
  • To keep our service safe, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.

3. Text Messages (SMS)

If you check the consent box on our sign-up form, you agree to receive text messages from Apis Rescue at the number you provided. These messages include swarm and bee rescue job alerts near your address and updates about your membership. Message frequency varies based on rescue calls in your area. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. Consent to receive text messages is not shared or sold, and you can withdraw it at any time.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Information collected for text messaging is used only to operate our alert service.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • With members and requesters, as needed to complete a swarm job (see Section 2).
  • With service providers who help us run our service, such as database and form hosting (Airtable), address-to-map-location lookup (Google Maps), phone and call-handling services, and text-message delivery providers. They may process your information only to provide services to us.
  • For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Apis Rescue, our members, or others.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as you are a member or as needed to operate our service, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Section 7).

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Rights

  • Opt out of texts: reply STOP to any message.
  • Access, correct, or delete your information: email us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
  • Leave the program: ask us to remove your membership at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
